I believe that pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood are the most formative times for the baby and the family, and what happens during this period has a long lasting effect for the future.  My greatest desire is to be a positive influence in this sacred event. I believe in being of pure service to the needs of each family I serve with acceptance, loving care, positive regard, and whole-hearted support of their choices and unique journey.  I strive to create a strong sense of team, confidence, and nurturance. The families I have worked with have brought me many wonderful and diverse experiences and skills over the years I have worked as a doula in hospital, home and birth center settings.  I feel confident in working with any special circumstances such as adoption, multiples, and complicated pregnancies or births. I have personally experienced the power and magic of birth as a mother or four, including twins. They have been the inspiration for my continuing work in the field of childbirth and parenting education and support.

Service to women, babies and their families is my passion and joy! It is an honor to be a supportive presence during the special time of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. I strive to protect the sacredness of birth as I advocate for the birthing mother. I am committed to honoring a woman's individual choices, needs and empowerment. I believe that birth is truely a woman's sacred rite of passage, and that women deserve their wishes honored during their experience. I believe all babies deserve a gentle birth and beginning, and that a gentle beginning will also shape them as children and adults, just as women's empowering birth experiences will become a source of strength as she trods down the rewarding and challenging path of mothering. My own empowering birth experiences have given me such strength as a mama and are my inspiration to walk the path of birth with women and their families.
I received my doula training at the Seattle Midwifery School in 1997 and have been practicing as a doula since 2000.
My experience is multifaceted, supporting births at the hospital, birth center and home. I specialize in VBAC and waterbirth. I offer healing touch, cupping therapy, placenta encapsulation, moxabustion for healing in postpartum, gem therapy, handmade herbal products, nutritional support and birth photography. I use my 18 years of experience with botanical medicine and aromatherapy to ease the childbearing year. As well as serving women as a birth and postpartum doula, I serve women as a homebirth midwife. I am working towards my Midwifery Certification (CPM), doing Primary Births under supervision of my preceptor, as well as doing births as an assistant midwife. I look forward to talking with you and please visit my website for more information. May you birth with bliss!

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (licence #5222) and have been a doula since 2002, attending over 375 births. I received my training from Debra Catlin and The Oregon School of Midwifery.
I am quite comfortable working with high-risk pregnancies and I bring a calm, experienced, open hearted presence to the pregnancy and birth experience. I have been working with families seeking support at The Birth Center, RiverBend and McKenzie-Willamette Hospitals.

I am the mother of three incredible children. The first was born via an emergency C Section and so I know the importance of a VBAC birth whenever possible and I provide all support I can to make VBACs possible.
I am always honored to be invited to one of the most beautiful and special days in a women's lifetime. I listen carefully to clients and work closely with both the mother and the father to help them create the birth experience they want.  I feel very strongly that every expecting family deserves to have unconditional support throughout the pregnancy and especially during labor and delivery on their child's Birth-day.

Since the birth of my first child I have felt deeply and passionately about birth, and about every woman’s right to give birth in dignity and power. My birth experiences were empowering and deeply transformative for me. In all the years since that time I have carried within me a deep trust in my body’s amazing abilities, strengths, and wisdom.
I have assisted with home, birth center, and hospital birth; VBAC, twin birth, and water birth. During my years assisting couples in birth, I have developed a special interest in your baby’s experience of labor and the first moments and hours of his/her life; a time when there are vitally significant physiological and emotional needs. During prenatal visits I teach you how you can protect your baby from birth trauma, ensure that his/her transition is gentle and natural and that your precious first moments together, your “bonding” time, is uninterrupted. The quality of this bonding time affects not only the ease and joy of nursing and your baby’s early life, but can have a lifelong impact.
As your doula, my goal is to help familiarize you with the natural process of birthing and to empower and encourage you so that you feel prepared and confident in your ability to meet the physical and emotional challenges of labor. Once labor has begun, I am there throughout your labor and birth to offer labor coping techniques, information and support, nurturance, and a calm reassuring presence to help you have a gentle and blissful birth experience and to ensure that your baby is received in an atmosphere of awareness, sensitivity, and love

Birth is an incredibly special and powerful event, and all mothers and families deserve to be supported and well-informed throughout the process. My goal as a doula is to help provide support for birthing parents and families while remaining respectful of the very personal nature of birth. I have served as a doula at both home and hospital births, natural and aided by medication. I draw on my knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and, as needed, communication with care providers to make sure you have information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort. I am a certified doula; I received my training from Birthingway College of Midwifery (2005) and the DONA International conference (2008). Naturally Nurturing Doulas is my business, in partnership with Laura Finnegan. I am presently taking time off to enjoy my pregnancy and birth of my second child.

Pregnancy, birthing and early parenthood is a phase in your life unlike any other. My wish is to help you move smoothly, wisely and joyfully through these transitions.  Offering my services as a doula allows me to help you dance in this stage in your life on a positive note, feeling healthy, happy, and satisfied with the experience. I have supported a wide variety of birthing situations and the families I have worked with have described me as confident, having a gently manner, knowledgeable with my hands and an intuitive sense of their wants and needs. I have a great love for what I do and am regularly filled with awe by the processes of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. My background in Rolfing®, movement therapy and yoga gives me insight into your process and helps me help you through these spectacular changes . . .  through your pregnancy and after your birthing.
My doula training is through DONA and my many colorful life experiences. I lead fun and informative classes in infant massage, yoga for the birthing years & HypnoBirthing®. While I may teach HypnoBirthing, I am well versed and very supportive of other childbirth philosophies and techniques.  I am a movement therapist, a retired Rolfer, an avid quilter & needlepointer and my husband and I are the happy parents of two grown sons and one lovely granddaughter, Lupin.

I believe that every woman has within herself the instinct and the ability to give birth naturally and normally. I want to help you to get in touch with that instinct and find the strength that you possess inside.
I feel that most importantly doulas should give nurturing and safety to the mother.  This is so necessary in birth.  The mother needs an advocate, a voice, and a shelter so that she can go within herself and on her birth journey with peace and joy.  She needs to feel safe in order to give birth, and I believe she will give birth much easier with the nurturing, protection, and guidance of a doula.   I also enjoy working with the mother's partner to help them confidently support the laboring woman as much as they desire.
I received my training as a birth doula through Birth Arts International.
I wish to share the pure bliss that can come from birth with the women in our community.

As a teenager I volunteered at an inner city hospital where much of my time was spent with women and babies. Throughout college I worked as an assistant to a pediatrician. I have worked as a teacher and as a counselor. But it wasn’t until I joined the Peace Corps and lived in South India for two years that I began to truly learn about and understand the natural processes of birth, breast-feeding and attachment parenting. I was in awe of the way new mothers knew how to successfully give birth and breastfeed. They did not have books or childbirth education classes, but older women helped them and modeled that pregnancy, birth, nursing and raising kids can be as natural as breathing.
In 1974 I gave birth to the first of our five home-born babies, and spent the next 17 years either pregnant, nursing or both. Now our children are grown and I have been assisting other families through pregnancy, birth, lactation and childrearing.

I am certified as a doula with DONA International and Hypnobabies. I attend births in homes, birth centers and hospitals.  I have served single and homeless women, teens, parents of twins, people desiring VBAC and others considered “high risk”.
I’ll meet with you throughout your pregnancy to offer information and to help you discover your own wisdom and intuition for your birthing time. I will support you as if I were an elder in your village who has known and loved you all of your life. My role is to help you to give birth in as natural, safe, peaceful, comfortable, and joyful a way as possible.
It is my profound joy and honor to assist families through the great passages of pregnancy and childbirth as they create the deep bonds of love that are the birthright of every human being.

Ever since I was young, I knew that I wanted to work with women in some capacity. It was not until the birth of my daughter last year, that I finally figured out what I wanted to do. I saw the need for women to be supported in labor (as well as their partner) so they could feel safe and secure to labor in the way they want.
I am DONA trained (working towards my certification) doula. I will attend births at home, hospitals or birth center. I will provide constant emotional and physical support through massage, positioning, words of encouragement and a sounding board for any concerns the couple may have during the process. It is my desire that each woman has a memorable birth experience, however they define it. I will support their decision to have whatever type of birth they want (medicated or un-medicated).
I believe that the birth of a child is a powerful, transformative part in people's lives. It is my desire to assist women and their partner to have the best experience possible.  I find it an honor to be a part of this miraculous event.
