DOULAS OF LANE COUNTY - BIRTH DOULAS
A doula respects that each mother's pregnancy and birth is special and unique. She is educated in the emotional and physiological process of birth, pregnancy and postpartum. She supports the mother and family through the events of birth. She is a constant attendant throughout labor, offering emotional and physical support. Doulas offer educational and community resources so parents can inform themselves in making the best decisions for themselves and their families. Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily.

I enhance my doula training with continuing education, but no one has taught me how to be the best doula possible like the families I work with. Every person I support teaches me new ways of being flexible, more responsive and supportive of an ever-wider range of choices.
In addition to attending births, I am active in the birth community and my community at large and moved from Los Angeles, CA to Springfield, OR in 2011. Please check out my website for more information about services. And have a wonderful birth!"

Now that my five home-born children are grown, I work full time as a doula to assist families through pregnancy, birth, lactation and child-rearing.
Certified with DONA and Hypnobabies, I attend births in homes, birth centers and hospitals. I have experience with single and homeless women, teens, twins, same sex couples, adoption, surrogacy, VBAC, waterbirth, and those considered “high risk”.
I will meet with you throughout your pregnancy to offer stress management techniques and information as you discover your own wisdom and intuition for your birthing time, and I will support you and your choices as if I were an elder in your village who has known and loved you all of your life. My role is to help you create birth intentions that are just right for you and to be there for you continuously as you welcome your baby in as comfortable, safe, peaceful, and joyful a way as possible. If you wish, I will also encapsulate your placenta.
It is my profound joy and honor to assist families through these great life passages as they create the deep bonds of love that are the birthright of every human being.

I bring to your birth a sense of calm, understanding, and encouragement as well as the information you may need to navigate a hospital setting. Prenatally I assist you in releasing fears, finding physical comfort, and helping you unfold the wishes for your birth so that you are strong in your decisions before the start of labor. I love helping the mother’s partner to feel confident and useful during birth and encourage them to use this time for emotional bonding. My goal is to create a protected and nurturing space so that you can birth intuitively and with ease. I am comfortable working in birth center, home, and hospital setting. I wish to share the pure bliss that can come from birth with the women in my community.
Please see my website for more info and testimonials.

I love births. I was blessed to be a part of my sisters' and a dear friend’s births before I trained as a Doula. In a room with a birthing mother I am in my element. I knew I had found my passion, my calling. My intuition, training, and experience take over as I support a laboring mom.
I am present, peaceful, and patient as I assist you through your birth journey. This birth is yours to experience how you wish. One of my key roles as your doula is to discern between unwelcome self doubts and a change in your birthing desires thru labor. I supply the encouragement and tools to work through self doubt. I honor your birthing decisions, if you choose to change your birth plan, the support and service I provide will adapt accordingly and respectfully.
I am truly grateful to the families who honor me, by allowing me to attend them during their labor and birth of their new baby. I volunteer as a Birth Doula with Doulas Supporting Teens. I am a trained Childbirth Educator thru CAPPA and have trained as a Hypno-Doula.
I co-founded Naturally Nurturing Doulas with Rose Peck.

The birth of your baby is an event that you will always remember. You may not remember every detail, but it is an experience that will be with you always. My job as your doula is to help you feel supported (emotionally and physically), help with comfort measures and be a resource for you and your partner so you both can make the best decision for you and your baby. My hope is that how ever you decide to birth (medicated, unmedicated, at home or hospital) is that you can look back at this occasion and have joyous memories of this special day.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I have been teaching childbirth classes for the past eight years and attending births as a doula for the past two years. I had two wonderful birth experiences of my own: one at Sacred Heart Hospital (when it was downtown) and the other at home. I have attended very different births from cesareans for breech babies to completely unmedicated births. I truly love supporting families in the kind of birth they desire and feel very confident in women and their ability to give birth. My experience also includes over two years as the managing editor for Midwifery Today magazine. Feel free to contact me. I would be happy to talk with you over the phone or meet in person to see if I would be a good fit for your birth experience.

I have had the joy and privilege of supporting families for more than 25 years, and a Certified Professional Labor (DONA), and Postpartum Doula for 8 1/2. I love that I am able to provide evidence based information and empowerment to the women and families I support. I am also able to provide Encapsulation as Tincture support to client who choose to take advantage of the benefits that provides.
My heart is to provide an "extra set of hands" that serve the mother and her family in the journey of birth as well as postpartum. I believe that we have both the right and responsibility to be fully informed regarding the choices we can make. This is especially important in the process of pregnancy and birth. As a woman is encouraged with the spoken truth and evidence based information, about her own ability to birth she is empowered. She is then able to fully communicate what she wants for her journey and know that her voice and heart are being heard. When this is followed up with support for both the birthing woman and her primary support person, they are able make the choices that are right for their birth experience, as well as their postpartum transition home.
I consider it a profound and humbling honor to be present during the journey through pregnancy, birth and postpartum with a family. When I am not supporting families, I can be found playing in my Mom’s garden, teaching kids to swim or simply enjoying the adventure that is life.

Each birth is a miracle and I love being able to support women during this exciting time in their lives and watch them become powerful and loving mothers. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (licence #5222) and have been a doula since 2002, attending over 375 births. I received my training from Debra Catlin and The Oregon School of Midwifery. I am quite comfortable working with high-risk pregnancies and I bring a calm, experienced, open hearted presence to the pregnancy and birth experience. I have been working with families seeking support at The Birth Center, RiverBend and McKenzie-Willamette Hospitals.
I am the mother of three incredible children. The first was born via an emergency C Section and so I know the importance of a VBAC birth whenever possible and I provide all support I can to make VBACs possible.
I am always honored to be invited to one of the most beautiful and special days in a women's lifetime. I listen carefully to clients and work closely with both the mother and the father to help them create the birth experience they want. I feel very strongly that every expecting family deserves to have unconditional support throughout the pregnancy and especially during labor and delivery on their child's Birth-day.
